Throughout the year, both parishes have collections for other local and national causes. Ruberslaw Parish donates their Easter and Christmas open plate offerings to a charity chosen by the Kirk Session. There is also a collection made at the Carol Singing in Minto Church for a specified charity. Hobkirk and Southdean also donate their open plate offering at Christmas Services to selected local good causes, including Denholm Primary School, and local foodbanks.
Additional retiral collections may be made for emergency situations as they arise.
