Renovating the Turnbull Window

Warm thanks are expressed to those who contributed towards the costs of renovating the Turnbull Window, with particular thanks to Betty Turnbull for a generous 1000US$ donation in memory of William David Turnbull.

Bedrule Flower Festival and Exhibition

2014 is the 100th Anniversary of the Renovation of Bedrule Church and to mark the occasion a Flower Festival is being held in the Church and an Exhibition in Bedrule Village Hall on 20 and 21 September on the theme of ‘War and Peace’. The organising group is Carla Bailey, Alison Henderson, Maureen King, Janice Palmer, and the Minister, and they would welcome memorabilia of Bedrule Church for display.

Elders’ Conference

Elders are reminded of the Presbytery of Jedburgh Elders’ Conference being held in Hawick on Saturday 6 September. Places can be booked by contacting Rev. Lisa-Jane Rankin on 01450 370744.

Denholm Flower Show

As in previous years, teas will be available in Denholm Church Hall during the Annual Flower Show, which this year will be on Saturday 6 September. Those willing to assist with the teas are invited to speak with Mrs. Maureen King.

2014 Borders Walking Festival

Jedburgh and Denholm Walking Festival is being held from 31st August to 6th September. Volunteers are needed for the 3rd and 4th September in the afternoons to help with teas in Denholm Village Hall to coincide with the returning walkers from the Festival. Afternoon teas are open to everyone and all visitors would be welcome. Contributions of baking, donations or help in the kitchen would be very much appreciated.
