The bad news is that almost everyone within the joint Parish boundaries missed a fantastic show at Laidlaw Memorial Hall in Bonchester Bridge on Saturday 12th April when a local duo called The Boyds – Gus and Liz Boyd – gave just a few people a great time with their acoustic interpretations of classic hits from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. Not just talented performers, these guys are master arrangers of music, adapting mega productions such as David Bowie’s ‘Space Oddity’ to two voices and one guitar…… sound improbable? They carried it off amazingly!
The good news? The Boyds are touring village halls in the Borders, Edinburgh, Fife and North Northumberland between now and September. You can see them in Ashkirk Village Hall on Saturday 26th April, or at more local venues in September – see their Facebook page for full details. Tickets are £8 and the show starts at 7-30pm. Don’t miss them again!!!
